I have a distant relative who is supposedly a computer wizard—he recommended Bing so many years ago that I can’t remember not using it. It worked perfectly (so far as I was concerned) for years and now it suddenly doesn’t work. If the problem can’t be fixed I’ll go back to Google. The supposed computer wizard has no idea as to how to fix the problem—I guess he is more of a consultant than a repairman.
I don’t know the version. Supposedly it updates automatically so it should be the latest version. I’ll try suggested link—thanks for supplying it.
None of the suggestions offered so far have helped; please don’t take that as criticism.
Thanks for all the inputs.
For now I’m just going to bid a fond farewell to Bing and hope that Google will accept me back if I grovel convincingly.
If you’re going to use Google as your search engine, you might also consider trying Chrome as a browser. They play very nice with each other since Chrome is a Google product.
The problem may actually be your browser and not the search engine.
Out of sheer desperation I did a “restore” operation. I am now using Firefox with MSN as a homepage and Bing as a search engine----just as before. The problem appears to be resolved; “Images” works just as it should. On the downside, Windows10 kept a list of all my bookmarks but as soon as I selected Firefox, Windows ate the list* AND all the info for my Email. On the upside I can set up the Email again and I’m actually glad that the plethora of bookmarks I’ve accumulated over the past five or six years are gone; now I can start over with more useless bookmarks that I will never use anyway. Of the few bookmarks that I will actually use, the SDMB will be first and in fact I’ve already accomplished that.
*I’m reasonably sure the list exists somewhere but Windows has spitefully hidden it; finding it will probably be more trouble than it is worth.
