I have a program which was designed (apparantly) to run in Dos 5. It will run in windows XP, however it doesn’t show some text properly. It comes up as garbled gibberish characters. One example is the help file which displays headings such as “Index”, “Contents”, and “Back” correctly but the actual contents are garbled.
Is there any easy way to fix this?
Have you tried DOS Box? What’s the program called?
It doesn’t work at all from DOS box.
It is called UCT-1 and is a simulator/training program for the Universal UNS-1B flight management system. Essentially it’s a training aid for a whizzy-doo GPS.
My guess is that you need to have the ANSI.SYS driver loaded. There is a way to do this in XP which I can’t recall, but Google should be able to help.
