I have only two weeks to do an Environmental Science Term Paper on the impact Chernobyl had on local wildlife. It has to be ten pages long, I have a draft that is only 3 1/2 pages long That thing needs to be spectacular in order for me to pass this class, which I need to pass to get my CSU degree this June. I still haven’t gotten around to getting decent research material on it. Stupid internet
I will take it subject by subject (finals are the week of May 6th)…
Baseball And Society - Got the study guide last Wednesday. Note to all…THIS IS NOT AN EASY CLASS. Just because it has ‘baseball’ in the name doesn’t mean it is easy. So far in this class I’ve got a paper due TOMMOROW, two movie viewings due FRIDAY, and studying for the final the 10th. Progress…NONE.
World Civ - Should have talked to the Prof about my horrid grade the week before last. Still haven’t done it. Got study guide wednesday also. Progress…NONE.
Math - Haven’t been in over a week. Have no IDEA what is going on. Better go to check things out. Progress…TBD
Music - ONE preformance for your music jury accounts for 90% of your grade. The other 10% is an arbitrary judgement by your professor. Times practice with pianist…ONE. Hours practiced the past week…NONE! Time till next lesson…about 11 hours. She is easily irritated too…(yes I realize that blame is totally on ME for that).
Fraternity - Yes we have a final for our entire FRATERNITY. We are being tested every week about historical aspects and the heritage of our new home next year. Most assumed that this would be your basic, “What are these greek letters,” “Who were the founding fathers,” and such. I’ve had ORAL SURGERY less painful than the test today! Try memorizing the entire oath AND the entire greek alphabet in one week. Not fun.
What have I gotten myself into.
This sounds very cool. Seriously, if you can supply any details I’d be interested.
Right now, I’m finishing up a program that determines how likely it is for two given texts to have been written by the same author. At least, that’s what it’s supposed to do. It can accurately tell me that King Lear was not written by the same author as Dubliners, but it thinks Frankenstein was written by the same author as Masque of the Red Death.
sigh
How did I know that, come Sunday night, this thread would be floating at the top again?
Yawns:o
So sleepy…
I’ll have my final exams soon, too (physics on May 3, Latin on May 8, English on May 10, and an oral politics/government test after Whitsun). and what am I doing? Hanging around on the SDMB all day long.
So you’re not alone, tsarina. Good luck.
Was it Carl or Lenny who said that every bar needs a Barney–someone whose alcoholism is so raging that it makes our alcoholism look tame by comparison?
Well, all of you guys here are my Barneys!
I’m supposed to be writing my senior thesis on “Religious Contributions to Nationalism in Vietnam, 1926-1975,” whose first draft is due in 3 weeks. I am of course surfing the SDMB instead. However the fact that I have written 14 of the requisite 30-50 pages with a full 3 weeks left makes me feel downright efficient, compared to those of you who have put off writing entire papers until the day they were due!
I can’t remember Carl or Lenny ever saying something like that, but I’m procrastinating again.
This time I have a little 2-pager to write. They’re the worst because you keep telling yourself “I’ll do it in a little. It won’t take me that long,” and then, you’re up at 4:30 AM…
My life has been rather hectic this week, so I say I’m justified in procrastinating.
Hmm…
What I’m not doing…
I’m not writing some paper thats about something dealing with water, maybe–or space–or maybe water as its related to space.
My portfolio is due in eight hours. One of these hours I will get around to revising all fifty pages.
Oh, and my paper about public administration and governmental public purposes.
This post took about 15 minutes. I was watching TV too.
Jesus, people…
Two things came to mind reading this thread:
- I’m glad I graduated in 2000.
- God, I’m old.
I know I was as bad as you guys are, and I know that I did spectacularly well, considering (ended up with a 3.7 overall cumulative, departmental honors, including a 31 page thesis), but reading your stuff, I don’t think I could ever do it again…
Good luck, all.
