in my current product design (CDT) A-Level in sixth form in England I have to re-design a phone, so i’ve come up with 5 different ideas (which i think are pretty good) and i’ve picked one to take on and develop into a model. However i think this is a kind of wasteful exercise because i’ve got 4 redundant ideas, so my question: what is the process i must go through to get big companies (Samsung etc.) to check out the phones? how do i make sure i dont get fucked over by said company? and is it even worth trying/profitable?

You probably can’t get those companies to look at your design. It’s like publishers not accepting unsolicited materials. Doing to opens them up later to lawsuits from allegedly stolen ideas.
