So, which annoys you more? Commercials or product placement? I’d have to say product placement. Commercials are annoying, but I can also use them for bathroom breaks during a tv show. At the movies, I’m still busy talking with my friends when they show commercials. Product placement really annoys me because I know what the advertiser is doing. I hate my attention being drawn away from the movie/tv show when the camera focuses in on the featured product.
When done well (read: subtly) I very much prefer product placement… if the other choice is actual commercials. Commercials suck, no matter how funny or otherwise entertaining (read: semi-nude women in various forms of activity) they might be.
