I knit and make soap. I’m not good enough to sell anything, but the people who get the gifts I make them seem to like them, so that makes me happy.
We’re down the homestretch, house-wise. We definitely close on Thursday and I know how much it’s going to cost. We do the walkthrough tomorrow, then all we can do is hang out until Thursday morning. Our agent calls me every day to see how I’m doing.
In other news, I managed to walk over 10,000 steps, at least according to my Fitbit. It wasn’t all at once, and I will probably hurt like hell tomorrow, but it’s good to know that I can do 10K.
I forgot to include the extra external HDDs that I needed to buy. (Video is a memory hog - HD video is ≈ 13/GB/hour/camera.) & I didn’t factor in my time. Yeah, I don’t think I’m making waiter minimum wage…& I don’t get tipped either. (Yeah, don’t bet the ponies, I know.) GrumpyBunny ::tacklehug:: Where ya been?
With anyone else, I wouldn’t even think this, but why am I positive that this involves you blowing the fish out of the water? :o
BTW, do you have a name on those balloonists?
I could give you my address; that way you can clean something & not have to spend your time there. Win-win.
I’m awake and have been since 2am bladder call.
I made the mistake of looking at my phone and saw ‘MVA VEIP Suspension Notice’.
That woke me in a hurry.
I have no idea whose car it is, but they have until 8/5 to get their emissions test.
I have to get up in two hours to get ready for the DR.
I am going to feel like hell today.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 93, partly cloudy and maybe rain late afternoon. We shall see. Today I go to irk and piddle around again. Really, not a whole lot to do for me this week as all controls have been handed over to my former assistant. She’s doin’ great just like I knew she would.
Ok, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Purtification for irk must also commence at some point I suppose.
4 am - text from husband: “RU awake? I’m hungry.”
“What do you want?”
“Whatever you feel like fixing.”
I assumed that he didn’t actually want a strychnine cocktail. So he got low-fat, whole grain, with extra vegetables. I betcha he gets his own damned bowl of ice cream tonight!
Also? I’m tired of bugs. And annoyed with myself. It took me 2 months of fighting critters to finally realize that the infestation started after the central a/c died and I put in window air conditioning units - there were just enough gaps to allow every bug in the ZIP code entry to the house. Duh me!
(And when it finally dawned? I started sealing up with foam and tape. About halfway through, my darling husband pointed out that he’d never heard of bugs just coming in from outdoors. I guess he thinks they generate spontaneously?)
It cooled down a bit last night, so I opened the windows. Which means when the sirens started at 3 in the AM, I heard them. Dammit. And since I didn’t smell smoke, I just went back to sleep, sorta. <yawn>
More weird dreams involving 2 cousins (one from each side of the family) and an aunt who died years ago. One cousin had pointy teeth like a cat and the other one had alternating red and white teeth. I’m sure there’s a deep, significant message in that.
Meanwhile, much to be done today. I should probably get started.
I went home early yesterday thanks to the impending migraine. Managed to sleep for an hour, when my body woke me up and informed me that it wanted ALL the grease and salt. So I went to Five Guys, and I felt better. Then I binge-watched Netflix and did nothing else useful.
<placing pinky near the corner of my mouth>
One billion dollars!
I did a couple times; making the lock from a kit or even from scratch, breaching the barrel, dovetailing the barrel for the sights, all that kind of stuff. I usually make my own patch-box from sheet brass. The only thing I never made was the barrel itself and that was more from liability issues than not being able to. I did a couple turns at Colonial Williamsburg in the smithy and learned how to do it ---- I just never liked the legal risk involved.
Or the Mexican Army busts in while you are laying sick in bed.
The only thing I regret with them is I never made one for myself. I never wanted to pay for that many barrels for something that is basically a novelty. I have been saving some damaged ones though and some day ----------------
My hobby is horses, which are gigantic money pits. Know how to make a million dollars with horses? Start with two million. HAHA. At least I no longer own one but am seriously considering shareboarding, only half a money pit…
Took my black kitteh Ursala to the vet last night for a mani/pedi. This is only her 3rd time in the carrier and she was very good, but she did poo in it. Better than a wee. She has gained a whole pound (!) since April and now tops in at 12 lbs. Vet wants her to go on kitty Weight Watchers.
The Old Wench grabbed one of their cards. When we’re both home I will try to remember to snag it.
Actually I did travel to Vermont a couple times for their “bangling” season. In PA we can use bows and arrows for carp and sucker; in Vermont you were allowed firearms. And it was a lot like regular fishing in the types of gear people used. You had your basic trout fishermen shooting their carp with .22 rimfires and then you had those bass-types with .444 Marlins. Rather odd crowd. Some of us got together one night and tried to imagine the perfect handgun for bangling (we were kinda drunk at the time) and decided it would be a stainless steel 8mm Nambu with rubber grips; it would double nicely for shooting clams along the coast of NY and NJ as well.
Not here. Upper 80s and a dew point in the 70s. Its thick enough out there that I’m actually considering a half-shell helmet.
Short subject? A sequel to “Raising Dwarfs for Fun and Profit”? D)
