Programmers - Cold Fusion vs. ASP vs. ??

Not sure if this is a GQ or IMHO…

In planning the code platform for a site, what are the advantages of using Cold Fusion? How much dynamic ability does it possess, and what kind of content management tools? And how would it compare with something like asp or something else out there?

Or am I totally confusing things?

Just some basic info, or even links to where I can do further research, much appreciated.

I don’t use CF so I’ll leave others to comment on its usefulness, but we did a little compare and contrast recently in this thread:

thanks for link!

You know, the times I run a search here on a thread topic before I start one, the hamsters chug for like 10 min and don’t find anything.

The times I don’t run a search, someone’s started a thread three days ago on same topic

I’m partial to PHP. Mostly because it’s free, relatively easy to learn, and powerful.
