Normally it wouldn’t bother me too much but I posted 'cause someone actually had trouble understanding a name I said: Hagger. I used the example of dagger 'cause that was the first -ag word I’ve had corrected.
Having standard enough pronounciation is, in my opinion, about as important as having standard spelling. Even if people can understand you if your spelling/pronounciation is creative or regional, it’s more comfortable for them if it’s not.
(Odd. I just had a fleeting deja vu feeling as I typed that last sentence. Must be a glitch in the Matrix.)
