Rhymes with hot. Probably heard the UK pronunciation and didn’t realize it was supposed to be the same word. However, it seems the meanings are different. To my generation, it was a slang word for vagina. It sounds like in the UK it’s a bit of an asshole/jerk.
You did say that the two words rhyme. You’re forgetting what you posted. This is how our little disagreement started:
That is you saying that the two words rhyme in those areas.
You then say that “whether they rhyme depends on your own accent” and keep on angrily saying that to you they sound the same, and I say that’s fine, but that doesn’t mean they actually do sound the same. You again say that still, to you they sound the same. I agree again that you are hearing them that way, but that’s not the way they’re actually said; and for some reason you go back to repeating your own misunderstanding.
It’s really odd.
