Scholarships… Does The Straight Dope, SDMB, or Cecil (genuflect when you say that), generate or administer any scholarships for poor, humble, deserving, impoverished, hoping to climb out of ignorance and into the rarified air of the educated, students?

They don’t even give scholarships for memberships, although other members have a mechanism to pay for the impoverished.
Yip, I’ve had my membership paid by two different members. We used to have a stickied thread about it, but it’s become less important now that there is a free membership option.
Creative Loafing isn’t some huge company that has a lot of money to burn. This board’s existence has been precarious in the past. Cecil may be the smartest human, but he apparently doesn’t have a lot of money.
They can barely keep this board afloat. Being a supergenius has never been all that financially lucrative, unless you own ACME Industries.
