Just to emphasize some basic points:
The mods will take some time to make a decision. Hopefully it won’t be too long, but this situation has existed for a while and a few days really won’t really matter at this point. After we make a decision, whatever we do will of course be up for discussion, criticism, etc. in subsequent threads. But between now and then, don’t start any more threads related to this subject. I think at this point we’ve heard every conceivable point of view on how to handle this situation - new forums, subforums, banning or restricting games, moving games to a different forum or splitting them between a other forums, and maybe I’m forgetting some at the moment - so we have all the input we need. This thread got more heated than I think it should have and there’s probably fault to be had on both sides. (Speaking just for myself, I’d never sat down and counted how many game-playing threads there are and I post in The Game Room daily.) I realize the staff here has a way of coming off as resistant to change, but we really do value people’s input and even though opinions differ sharply, we do value people’s input when it comes to making this board as good as it can be.
So we will get back to you about this once we’ve reached consensus on what to do next.
