The nutrition info on pork rinds says it has 8 grams of protein with an asterisk saying “not a significant source of protein”. Does anyone know what gives? 8 grams seems like a signifcant amount and other foods have way less protein listed without saying the amount isn’t “significant”.
As far as I can Google, it is the lack of Tryptophan and Cystine.
From this thread:
“Not a significant amount of protein” ?
This gets a lot of play on my gastric bypass message board (GBS patients need a significant amount of protein in their diets). It’s not a “complete” protein in and of itself.
