Incest is often covered in both criminal law (go to jail) and in family law (lose the kids). As far as I know, NJ does not have a criminal incest law, but I belive incest is still set out as a from of abuse under its family law. I think you hit the nail on the head with consent at 16 not applying if it is a family member.

I don’t deal with family (civil) law but since I’m a NJ SVU detective I hope I get the criminal part right.

Just come out and say it. … Bigotry against blacks is offensive to us at a deep level. Bigotry against Southerners is not.

Obviously, to some it is.

Others, not so much.

Plain ol’ humor. I would not be offended in the least if something similar had been said about my home state, RI, or my adopted state, CA. Joke away. I’ll give you some material to start with if you need some.

That’s my perspective.

Now, I can understand why the mods don’t want those types of jokes in GQ. But that doesn’t make them “breathtakingly ugly”.

To me, it does. I was astonished to read it here, and that some-one got modded for calling the person out on it. (However, I am beginning to grasp that “nigger” is in a taboo class of its own here; okay.)

However, I do not believe in trashing people for their birth, whether it is how recently their ancestors lived on Africa or in Appalachia. It’s wrong. It’s nasty & bigoted, and it shames me to read it.

And I can’t believe anyone would defend such a post as a joke; that ship has sailed.
