Why bother? If they do indeed exist, they exist independently of your belief or non-belief.
Personally, I do not believe in automobiles. Oh, everyone I know says that I own one and that they see me driving in it every day, but I believe they are mistaken.
I don’t understand how the universe came about and hear voices that make me feel all warm and fuzzy. Undeniable proof for the existence of said unicorns!
Just because the english language lacks the proper color word to describe her and is forced to use “pink” as a marginally adequate substitute in no way diminishes her existence.
Last night I woke up and I bumped into something, but I couldn’t see it, which proves it was invisible. Since the only invisible entity we know is the Invisible Pink Unicorn, that’s what it must have been.
When I woke up this morning, it was gone. It must have flown away. Hence it was an IPFU.
The other night she came to me while I was sleeping, and told me the secrets of the universe, which I will share with all of you after I finish writing my 687 page book, which I will sell in religion stores for a hefty price. I’m working on cutting down on the readability now. If you don’t believe me, you are not respecting my religion, and we can’t have that now, can we?
(And my IPU does not fly. That is heresy, and I’ll pass a law against it as soon as my religion gets into power.)
Well strictly speaking not even everything possible has to exist, but I doubt that the OP wanted to get into such muddy water. And any measure on the entire infinite universe would have a zero probability. (an Infinite Universe having Infinite possible states, the actual state of the universe would have zero probability. Though it can be argued that zero probability should not be considered equivalent to impossable.)
There is all this talk about the IPFU not beign able to be both invisible and pink at the same time. This betrays a lack of understanding about the duality of essence of the IPFU. The IPFU exists simultaneously as both pink and invisble such that it can exist in this color-defined world and interact with other colored beings and at the same time be part of a higher order existence, ie invisible.
Well, you can either believe that IPUFs exist, or you can not. If you do believe that they exist, and they turn out not to exist, than you have lost nothing. If you do note believe, however, and they turn out to exist, think of the fool that you will appear and all of the lovely pink invisibleness and the free flights that you will have missed. So, it is far better to believe that IPUFs exist than not to so do.
It’s a stab at the contradictory statements re the attibutes of the christian god (for instance there’s only one god, but still there are three of him).
Not really, though it might have been subconscious. (I’ve never read the BOM, so I only have hearsay evidence about it.) However, any religious book that is unreadable allows multiple interpretations, which gets you out of trouble when you write something incorrect.
[oh crap I hope he realizes I am just kidding, but I cannot resist] If it is unreadable, how can there be any interprtations much less multiple interpretations?[sorry it was an irresistable impulse, but I was smiling when I typed it]
On a more serious note, I have read the BOM and my advice is it is not worth the trouble.
Ah, but I try to read every sf and fantasy book in my collection, (though I am now about 2,000 behind) and I’ve even read Galaxy 666 by Pel Torro.
