Psst - Wiwaxia! In here!

Hey, I just saw you sitting over in Great Debates and I wanted to extend a personal welcome. Anyone who names themselves after one of the coolest creatures to come out of the Burgess Shale deserves a shout out.

So welcome to the SDMB! I’d love to hear a little bit about yourself - you said English was your second language - where are you from? Odds are we’ve got someone in here who speaks your native tongue.

Just to add on, here are two of the Burgess Shale denizens:

Wiwaxia

Hallucigenia (first two pictures)

Darn! I came in here hoping that you were selling street corner Paleozoic fauna, and all I find is that you’re trying to attract somebody’s attention.

Cool SDMB name, though.

My personal favorite Burgess critter is Anomalacaris, but I have to admit Hallucigenia has a much cooler name. (Incidently, the most recent research indicates the latter’s spikes go on top, not below as the earlier reconstructions had it.)

Heck with Jurassic Park, I wanna get some Wiwaxia DNA and sell them as pets. That would be pretty cool, Cal.

:frowning: Wiwaxia hasn’t come around, though. I’ll bump this once just to see if it will catch his/her attention, then let it sink and become fossilized in the muck of antiquity, hopefully to be preserved and found aeons hence…
