“Pain is the weakness coming out. “. Ed, my first PT and (former) Marine.
They’ve got to stop giving you tacos every time you break your foot. It just rewards this behavior.
Sorry to hear of this little bump in the road. Hopefully you’re on a better track for healing now. This time for sure!
PT is rough in the short term, sure. But it saves you from a lot more pain in the long term.
I did PT in early 2021 for knee pain. Turned out that it was because of muscle weakness in the butt area on the other side of my body from the knee pain. How did they diagnose it? They literally watched me walk across the room.
A good PT can basically feel like a miracle worker, but it’s still work on the part of the patient - and if you’re doing it long term it can feel like torture.
Oh, the PAIN.

I think my Personal Trainer is Pretty Terrific.
As I am trying to convince myself that going to the gym, which is full of Physical Therapists (including my Personal Trainer) and doing exercises is a good thing, I am also avoiding associating negative terminology with the gym and associated personnel.
And I have a lot more energy and less pain since I started spending more time doing Practical Training.
When I had horses I’d occasionally have them massaged by a person trained in massage as applied to horses. Good ones can watch a horse walk or trot, seemingly lame in the left front, diagnose the problem as coming from the right hind, massage away the problem, and voila – a sound horse.
I can understand that.
They just said I need to get back up and move.
In the end I’ll be happier for it.
I thought I’d be able to skip it today. But didn’t happen.
I practiced walking in the offset boot thing.
I’m normally a toe walker. They want me walking in a more even, feels like flat footed, way. Til I’m healed.
It is very unnatural to me.
I’ll learn.
They were really nice about me wincing and fussing about the pain.
