Puppy Bowl VIII

They had a bassett hound, and also a Plott hound mix. The basset hound was precious, especially when drinking from the bowl.

We never saw it, and the basset isn’t listed on the webpage…

The Bowl Cam has to be one of the most inspired pieces of technology to be developed in years.

The starting line up is not all the puppies that appear. According to the Wiki article, there were 58 puppies used for 2012.

I don’t think the basset was up for very long, but I definitely remember seeing the long ears in the bowl-cam.

Suburban Plankton, the best part about the bowl cam is when one of the pups tries to “dig”. Sweet little paws!

Then take a gander at this page – another 17 puppy Bowl VIII puppies.

Bottom of the page, named York.

Don’t be hatin’ on the Chihuahuas, they all have green cards.

It does boggle my mind that they say Montana (top of that page) is a Collie/Rottweiler mix…yeah, right.

And from another source, I particularly liked this pit-ilicious shot.

I feel much better that the basset was represented.

The silver pit in the background in that shot, is that one on a website anywhere? It appeared at the very end and then the woman was holding it during the sign off to the show, but it was never named. That is one cute puppy!

Oh, and my dog liked watching the Puppy Bowl.

The solid-colored one with the blaze on his/her chest on the far right? I don’t think of that color as “silver,” more like “fawn” or “Weimeraner.”

I don’t remember seeing anything yet naming that dog. I suppose it might be Teenie Nina a bit more grown up – she does have a little bit of a chest blaze in this pic – but she looks too brindle-y. (There’s a nice article in the Teenie Nina link, by the way.)

Yeah, the kitties are always overstimulated, especially at the big finale. Plus instead of giving them soooo many elaborate toys they should just use a little catnip and have them play with each other instead. Same as the puppies do.

Still like watching it though…
