I use FTM V7.0. When I tried to install it in a new computer I got a message saying the ts.exe file was corrupted. I off loaded all the other files on the disk to a new disk and it installed the program. Do I need ts.exe? It seems to run OK without it. What is the purpose of the tx.exe file? If someone has it could you download it to me please. Just change the exe extension to xxx so that it will pass my firewall and attach it to an email to me at svenandjane@comcast.net. Thanks.
Whenever you find you have a corrupted file that you don’t understand, you should Google for it’s name, and see what comes up. TS.exe may very likely be a spyware program, from what I’ve read from a quick Google search. You should search for yourself, see if you like the explanations you’ve found, and apply the removal hints, if you feel they make sense.
What is FTM 7.0?
Family Tree Maker perhaps?
You might figure out what a .exe file does if you use a text editor to open it and look at what is inside it. Exe files generally look like gibberish but have readable words and phrases scattered around inside them or clumped together here and there. When that program runs, those readable words and phrases would be messages such as prompts and errors, and menu items, and labels, and so forth. They provide clues as to what the thing is supposed to do.
