I don’t think this is very GQ worthy and not enough Society for Cafe Society, so I put it here.
If I wanted to record something on my camcorder (regular smaller tape, like VHS, not hi 8 and not mini whatever) would I have to get a new program and/or a card installed on to my computer?
I have a new compaq presario with Windows XP.
Does anyoen know?

I’ve never done it but I assume that the outputs on your camera are like composite video and audio (a yellow RCA jack and one or two audio jacks)? You’ll need a TV or video card for your computer that has a composite input. I’ll email you a link to site that can answer all of you questions–the other info there can be used for things like DVD piracy (trust me people, far more work than it’s worth) and I don’t want this thread shut down.
