Puzzle: More Shuffled Movie Titles

This puzzle is a list of movie titles with something in common. The titles have been broken into “doublets”, and the doublets then alphabetized.

Example:

AMERICAN BEAUTY
AM ER IC AN BE AU TY
AM AN AU BE ER IC TY

Problems:

  1. All titles are altered. The common factor in each movie title has been replaced with an identifier. These identifiers are of four types, depending upon the identity being identified.

  2. Prior to being broken into doublets, an extra letter was added to the beginning and ending of each altered title. These extra letters are not part of the titles at all.
    Mitigating Circumstance:

These extra letters will spell out a relative piece of wisdom from Doc Searls. To find the wisdom, simply read down the extra starting letters, and then read down the extra ending letters.

I’m new with these. Any tips or tricks?

And how exactly were they altered - can you give an example? Would it be like:

Start with “Star Wars”
Change a word, making “Star Battles”
Add a letter before and after, “XStar BattlesX”
Couple it up: XS TA RB AT TL ES X
Is that about right?

(I’m also guessing you picked titles with an even number of words…)

Exactly.

Then the new “doublets” would be alphabetized.

And yes, the letters would, in the altered titles, necessarily have to be of an even number.

I’ll open the bidding at 10 No-Trump–finally got them all. I found these harder than most of the scrambled movie titles, though.
