Puzzle Time -- Film Math Quiz!

Puzzle time!

The text: All clues have something to do with a particular film. Generally, they’re a very brief description. Some are bits of trivia on the film, but all reflect a film that has a number in the title. Once you’ve deciphered all the films, take the numbers in the titles and run each of the equations. The answer to the final main equation will reflect another movie title. First one to come up with that title wins!

All movies listed (and the eventual answer) are full-length feature films (although one is a live concert film). Most are well-known films. Some aren’t. Some hints are pretty obvious. Some are pretty obscure. If you solve the puzzle, please do the others a favor and spoiler box your solution.

The math: I tested this out on some co-workers, and after having several people get several different answers based on how they were taught (and how much 5th grade math stuck with them), it seems some clarification is needed. I’ll lay down the math basics like this: parentheses first, work everything else left-to-right. Don’t try and do multiplication or division before addition/subtraction, unless that’s the way the problem is written. Yes, I realize that’s technically incorrect. Deal with it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have fun!

Note to all: With something this complex, there’s a pretty hefty margin for error. I tested this myself dozens of times, and had others try it out until everyone got it right. Still, you never know. I apologize in advance if there are any mistakes, and if you get stuck, let me know where and I’ll let you know if our numbers jibe.

Note to the Mods – I went back-and-forth on if this was MPSIMS or Cafe Society. I decided on MPSIMS, but if you want to move it, go right ahead.
