2: Please put some context into your question for those of us not following PETA’s every announcement, so we can make sense of it. Is there some cite where PETA has come out against Thanksgiving and given reasons for this position? If so please link or cite.

Hello, n0b0dy…, and welcome to the SDMB. Read the forum descriptions more closely and you’ll see that there’s more to General Questions than “anything I happen to think of,” no offense intended. I’ll try to help make clear what’s not GQ about the way you asked these two questions:

Unless you’re literally asking what the mathematical odds of this happening are, there is no factual answer. Hell, even if you are asking that, it’s probably incalculable, so any answer given is going to be a guess. If you’re really asking “Does anybody think PETA can snuff out Thanksgiving?” which is what it sounds like, that goes in In My Humble Opinion, the forum for polls.

Since the answer to this is so obviously “yes,” given the fact that a great many people eat it, you seem to again be asking something along the lines of “Does anyone besides me think tofu is not real food?” Again, a poll should go in IMHO.

As a rule, the best thing to do is lurk for a good long while until you get a good feeling for what questions belong where. The absolute best way to learn this is to read the “moved threads” threads and see what got moved and why.

As others have mentioned, this really belongs in IMHO or MPSIMS. Actually, it doesn’t belong anywhere; with all respect, these are pretty stupid questions. But if you feel you must, those are the places.
