Q about wild eggs

A MPSIMS thread about pigeons got me thinking about wild eggs. How does one eat them? Is there a way to tell if you’re going to get an egg or a premature hatchling?

I just imagine that if I were in the wild & trying to survive, it would be impossible for me (with my current knowledge) to know if I was going to be eating scrambled eggs or if I’d open it up only to find a bird inside. (I’d probably still try to eat it, considering that I’m trying to survive, but it might be unpleasant).

How do I optimize my chances of eating scrambled eggs?

Hold them up and look at the sun through them. Eggshell is transparent enough that you should be able to make out the outline of an embryo.
