Q.I. coming to BBC America!

The thing for me is, podcasting (audio) is something I do on the subway with an old, non-internet accessible ipod. Haven’t checked out the show yet but my gut tells me I’d really dig it (David Mitchell is always so brilliant). It would be a shame if it’s not available in mp3.

And yes, much love to NickFromFulham! (who has no idea how much joy he’s brought me over the last year).

If you enjoy 8 out of 10 Cats, see if you can get 8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown. Countdownis a bit of a British institution and the 8 Out of 10 crew did it once for a ‘mash up’ night a few years ago and it was so successful they got a series out of it!

You might like this Tumblr page. I find Tumblr to be incomprehensibly difficult to navigate, the idea of logical links and a UI that makes sense seems to be anathema for it, but if you persist you can unearth things eventually.

You’re not supposed to navigate Tumblr - you’re supposed to start from the top and read down until you get bored. It’s a bulletin board, not a database.

It is hilarious and one of my favorites. I find Sean Lock, Jimmy Carr, and John Richardson endlessly hilarious. And their guests are also very funny.

That’s great! (but I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who doesn’t get the logic of tumblr).

How do you feel about Mock The Week?

n/m, I see you answered this.

(hey, wasn’t it you that recommended it to me? ). Since you’re asking I can expand a bit, since it’s not only the fact that I don’t get many of the references, but it’s more the format itself I think. The thing I love most is spontaneous witty banter, but MtW is more about just going back and forth to exchange one-liners. It feels contrived to me. It reminds me of the scenes-from-a-hat game from Whose Line… except instead of a few minutes it’s the whole show. I can enjoy it but it doesn’t really tap into what I love about QI and WILTY.

I see your point about MtW. But Google “Mock the Week Wearing Flag,” just for the hell of it.

But people use it as a blog, with multiple pages and sub-sections which are impossible to get to, take ages to load, and an unreliable search. It should never have gotten this popular when it’s such a nightmarish jumble.

Really? Because most Tumblrs I visit are just one image after another, followed maybe by a remark or two. Nice and simple, which is why I like them.

There’s a couple webcomics I like that use Tumblr. It’s annoying as fuck if you’re looking for a specific comic, or trying to figure out where you left off if you haven’t read it in a while.

American Captain, I’m looking at you.
