Who’s this Niven guy ? I always thought that all Bond actors were, chronologically:

  • Sean Connery
  • George Lazenby
    (* Some more Connery ?)
  • Roger Moore
  • Timothy Dalton (and BOY, did HE suck !)
  • Pierce Brosnan

In what movie did Niven play Bond then ? Was it the parody one (which I have never seen) ?

Don’t know if you’re being serious or not, Coldfire, but the “Niven guy” was David Niven, who played James Bond in Casino Royale. The plot of the movie, such as it was, was that Niven’s Bond had retired and had to find a replacement. As I recall, Woody Allen and Peter Sellers were among the characters that were trying to be the new Bond. By all accounts, Casino Royale was a truly wretched movie.

I’m so sad. We were just talking about Q the other day. sigh

FYI David Niven played the ‘real’ Bond in ‘Casino Royale’ which was more of a spoof that a 007 movie.

Thanks Nemo. And I WAS serious. Mmmm… think I must rent that Casino Royale thing then.

I guessed it had to be David Niven when the name Niven came up, I just never saw that spoof Bond flick.
