Well, there’s the problem: I don’t recognize that a lesson was required. I hope the policy will return to deletion of posted text that is pornographic, hate speech, advertisements/spam, describes illegal activity or violates copyright and not because a mod in a fit of pique decided that somebody needed a “lesson”.
I don’t appreciate having my opinions deleted (so long as I’m not doing anything to put the board or the Chicago Reader at legal risk) and being told it’s for my own good.
Had the thread simply been closed on the basis that it was more GD than GQ, this wouldn’t be an issue, though I personally would have preferred it be moved to GD with its contents intact.
