Alright, not that anything is wrong with it (had to get that out of the way) or it matters one way or another as the cast and writing on this show is brilliant regardless…
As a straight married male who has been sucked (no pun intended) into this show along with my wife, I’ve been curious about who on the show is and who is not gay in real life?
Peter Paige (Emmett), Randy Harrison (Justin) and Robert Gant (Ben) have all come out publicly, Gant in the most recent issue of the Advocate. The others either aren’t gay or just haven’t figured it out yet.
A friend of mine works at a Barnes and Noble where the QAF guys stopped on a press tour awhile ago. She didn’t know the show well enough (or at all) to tell me who was there, but she did say that they were all pretty adamant that they were straight. Like I say, I haven’t a clue who exactly this was, but I’m pretty sure this tour was pre-2nd season, for what it’s worth.
Apparently it was a really slow day at the store and nobody was really stopping by for autographs or anything, so she killed a little time with them. Said she had fun. Sigh Why couldn’t I have gotten to meet Hal Sparks?
<hijack>I just noticed the other day that Michael’s mom is Cagney from Cagney & Lacey! Man it took too long to realize that.</hijack>
I was a little surprised about Robert Gant coming out. I always thought his acting in the love scenes seemed a little forced and unnatural. Perhaps that’s just a function of having to kiss Hal Sparks bleh. Don’t get me wrong, Hal seems like a nice guy, but he’s not in the least attractive to me.
Gale Harrod (Brian) on the other hand seems to be downright enthusiastic, leading me to doubt the veracity of his claims to heterosexuality.
Shouldn’t they hire the people they think are best for the show regardless of their sexual orientation?
Homebrew
Personally I thought that had someting to do with his apparent difficulty in balancing his ENORMOUS head. Is it just me or does anyone else think Robert Gant’s head is just huge?
