Quarantuba!

That’s right, another self indulgent thread about tubas from Jumpbass. I figured folks need a bit of levity not related to The Big Sick, so I’m continuing making weird tuba videos. Y’all seemed to like my rendition of Funkytown, so here’s more. See what happens when you encourage this kind of behavior?

My newest one is Black Sabbath’s Iron Man on four tubas, drums and guitar.

Metal tunes work well for tubas because you can use root and fifth power chords which sound good in low registers. I also recently posted Spinal Tap’s Big Bottom with the intro from Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen.

I’m pulling together the arrangements I did for these to put up on SheetMusicPlus. I’ll have links to those on the descriptions on YouTube later. You know, in case anyone else wants to play them. (Suuuure…)

Cool!

Weighty Brass! Your drummer and guitarist need to learn to grimace musically.

Have you considered doing “Veteran of the Psychic Wars”?

This was arguably your best song yet, eh.

That would totally fucking rock!

And hey, because you (and others who appreciate fine music) might be interested in them, there’s a trio that’s bass, drums and saxophone called Free Nelson Mandoomjazz; here’s their song Black Sabbath.
