As for dantheman and Lobsang , as stated earlier, I’m here two or three times a week and have been attending in that fashion since I registered. I’ll bet with all of the thread views relative to the number of high volume posters (and that population is? … I’m guessing about 600 have a daily post count of .5 or greater, as an arbitrary definition), that there is a vast number of lurkers out there that visit and behave in a similar manner. Any way, if this was a “regular” thread with the usual suspects, given the opening presented earlier, someone would have to say …

I spent my thousandth telling everyone over in an IMHO thread that, hell yeah, I’m keeping all my women friends, damnit!
Priorities, mind you. I need to keep my priorities straight. And, as I said over there, if keeping a slew of female friends on hand so that, if auntie em ever kicks me to the curb, I have another pair of breasts in which and on which to cry, is a priority, then so be it. 
I felt that was a very poignant, important 1000th post.

One question I’ve wanted to ask (but have been afraid to start my first thread) is what brought some of us here in the first place. Mine was a Dogpile search for the lyrics to Louie Louie in order to answer a question from a coworker. The ride so far has been wild and fun!
I had been Reading the SD books , which in turn led me here.

I used to read the weekly column when it was in the Boston Herald. I don’t even remember how I found the website, it was well before I registered though. I probably googled something or other. Back before my old job got really busy, my department’s offices got moved a lot, and I got stuck in a closet in the back of the warehouse for a while. It was supposed to be for two weeks, ended up being more like six months. I spent a lot of time online then because nobody knew where I was anyway.
That was at the company where our old HR rep got busted looking at porn sites in her office. I think they just told her not to do it again.
I should clarify that last post…
My office got moved to a closet in the warehouse. I realized after hitting “submit” that the way I wrote it, it sounded like I agreed to be shut in the closet for two weeks and got stuck there for six months.
Maybe my tendency to make statements like that has something to do with why I didn’t post much for a long time…

Seriously, I also have a rock-bottom post count. I’ve just rarely felt like I could or should contribute, which is odd since I always speak up in “real life”. Lurking has been fun, and I’ve learned a lot of useful and random things. Had some laughs, too–“The Horror of Blimps”! But my goal for this summer is to post, not as much as possible but to post.
I’ve been climbing up in the last few months, but considering my registration date and the fact that I lurked probably a year before that, I’m still pretty low on the posting totem pole. I guess I just decided somewhere that there’s so many posts so often that if I make one stupid one (or several) it’s just not that noticeable. Kind of like peeing in the ocean. Not that I’m advocating that practice, but you get the idea. I hope. Now watch, no one will remember this post three seconds after they’ve read it. I’ll be back to test you all later.
