In Requiem For A Dream, when Harry finds out that his mother has been taking amphetamine diet pills, he frantically asks, “You’re makin’ a croaker for speed, ain’t ya?” Slightly later in the conversation he says, “I am tellin’ you, that croaker’s no good!”
What is this supposed to mean? Googling about it just seems to bring up quotes from this movie.
As an aside, that was definitely Jared Leto’s best role, and for someone who is not actually a Jewish kid from New York, he played one really well. I think he nailed the accent.
