Question about Iowa juvenile justice system

I tried Google and got nowhere.

Hey Hawkeyes, doesn’t Iowa have a confidentiality requirement for juvenile offenders? My hometown paper currently has a story about a 16 year old who was arrested for threatening to burn the high school. The story named him and I thought that was illegal in most states.

Smith v. Daily Mail, a U.S. Supreme Court case from 1979, said that as long as the name was lawfully obtained (asking witnesses, for instance), a state statute prohibiting publication is unconstitutional unless it serves some substantial state interest.
