Question about iPod headphones

So, I’m enjoying my iPod. But the earbuds aren’t so hot. Not much bass, they don’t stay firmly in my ears, etc. Lots of minor problems. So I’m looking for new headphones. My question is this: Will any of those Walkman-style headphones work with the iPod? Do I need to get 'phones designed just for the iPod?

I’ve looked online and can’t really find a definitive answer. I don’t have any old headphones laying around to test this out.

I suppose all I need is for someone with an iPod and a spare set of headphones to test it.

Anyone?

I love my iPod, but the first thing I did was toss the earphones that came with it. I bought a pair of Sony earbud deals, because I like the comfort. I think any standard mini-plug, stereo set of headphones will work with it.

Jammer

Any old pair of headphones will do. It wasn’t written down specificaly, because the person who wrote the manual figured people would read “headphones” as a general term. For a reviews of good headphones, go to: http://dansdata.com/

I didn’t like the iPod earbuds either - they have kind of a big radius and fit strangely in my ears, and I didn’t think they sounded very good either. Plus, there have been news reports about people getting their iPods stolen because of wearing the distinctive white earbuds (the thieves know you have an iPod).

I replaced them with some Sony earbuds. I forget the model number, but they’re great, and they were only $13 at Best Buy. Just look at a couple, and find ones with the largest frequency range. Any normal headphones will work on your iPod. I use the Sony earbuds on the train and stuff, and use nice padded Radio Shack headphones at work.

Thanks guys!
