Thanks to Hulu, I’ve been able to keep up with the show, Medium. It got me to thinking. Has it ever been explained why Joe Dubois has a British accent? In the most recent episode, Allison was communicating with the ghost of Joe’s father, who did not have a British accent. Come to think of it, Joe’s sister was in the last episode and she didn’t have an accent either.
Hm, I’ve never really noticed that Joe has a British accent, but IMDB says that the actor who plays him is British (or at least was born in London). I think you just must have a very good ear, because IMHO any accent is quite subtle.
Thats his American accent. I think its pretty good but not great. I have noticed that a good number of Brits who do an American accent wind up with a husky pillow-talky tone. He is much better than Mark Addy who to me sounds almost the same as he did in The Thin Blue Line.
Gail’s ear must be better than mine, as well, since I’ve been watching the show for a while now and never noticed any accent.
That’s not surprise, though – my ear for accents is terrible. I can barely distinguish Australians from Brits unless they’re saying things like “crikey”.:smack:
