Question. Bruises?

Any experience with so called bruise cream?

I wanted to think it’s all woo.

Any tales of success or woe, is appreciated.

Thx.

Yep. Results are inconclusive at best. Madame Pepperwinkle heard they might help her. Anecdotal evidence: they didn’t.

I have used this stuff in the past with sporting injuries mainly and it definitely makes a difference.

Does Trump know about this?

I have my doubts that any sort of cream is going to be useful for bruises; how deep into the skin do they really penetrate and what would they do/how would they be effective? Most of a bruise isn’t the healing of the broken blood vessels part, it’s the body getting rid of the blood under the skin, which a cream wouldn’t help with too much.

I suspect if creams show any benefit, it’s because the action of rubbing them on a bruise increases blood flow to the area which might accelerate the removal of the discolored area and healing of anything damaged.

I’m not a doctor, so take all of that with a grain of salt.

Not looked into these things recently. But I would lean towards woo.

Bruising is caused by blood beneath the skin. Clots and hematomas break down over time, producing various coloured pigments that allow one to estimate when things happen. Bruises typically improve after 2-6 weeks, affected by blood thinners and NSAIDs..

For cream to do anything, it would have to penetrate the skin and affect this process. I could see a cream masking appearances, like facial concealers. But I can’t see it shortening the amount of time to return to normality. What do these bruise creams claim to do?
