Question for a twin or a parent of twins

First, get your minds out of the gutter.

When sitting or standing next to each other, do twins tend to have a preferred side they’d rather be on?

This is an offensive statement, inappropriate for General Questions.

My twins always had a preferred side, but then again, one of them is left-handed, and one right-handed, so it was perfectly normal for them to sit so they didn’t keep banging their dominant hands on each other.

What two righties or two lefties would do is outside my experience.

Mine are only 4 but have no specific preferences in this regard. Now, nearly every other facet of their lives… that’s a different story, but that may be just being 4.

It’s interesting they’re different handed. What about when standing next to each other, as if for a family photo?

Depends on if there is an evil twin and a good twin

I’m a twin. Both of us are right handed. We neither of us have a preference to sit or stand on one side.

Looking at some photos where they posed themselves, it looks like they almost always stand with their dominant hands apart (lefty on the left, righty on the right.)

They’re fraternal, not identical, and lefties run in the family, so it isn’t surprsing one of them ended up that way.

Parent of fraternal girl twins. No noticeable preference

I am triplet, so I am not sure if that adds a wrinkle, but we do not have preferred positions when standing next to each other.

Speaking as an identical twin, nope. Just one of those questions that have never arisen.

Now it’s been raised, one can see it as a question that a singleton might fixate on. But, as usual, it surely says more about them than any twins.
