sorry to single you out like this, Zette, but I can’t email you directly; binghamton.edu email isn’t getting through to yahoo.com, email.com or technologist.com (possibly more than just those); you use yahoo.
anyway, I’m planning on going to Boston this weekend for a speech tournament; I’ll probably be by myself; I’m wondering if you know the best way to get there from here? and by “best” I mean “cheapest”
anything that will get me there reliably (car/bus/plane/train) works for me, and since you live here I’m assuming you have enough experience with travel to give me a head start on figuring this out.
Daniel, I’m hoping Zette comes up with a good answer, but IIRC there is a Greydog route from the Triple Cities to Albany which links up with the Buffalo-to-Boston route.
I’m here! I’m here!
Unfortunately, with bad news- I really only travel by car, so I’m as clueless to public transport as you are. I don’t how trains, busses or planes run
I’m sorry I can’t be of some assistance, but short of renting a car and driving, I don’t think I can help! Even then, I’ve always had my own vehicle, so I don’t know how much car rental is.
Glad I could help!
Zette
Love is like popsicles…you get too much you get too high.
hm, post 300 looks to be a kind one: thank you Polycarp, thank you Maelro, thank you Zette.
This tournament looks to be hideously expensive just for one person, but I’ve got my heart set on it. I did far too well at Cornell’s tournament to stop now if not in Boston, then somewhere, there’s a trophy with my name on it
Those bastards at Greyhound bought out -excuse me - “merged” with Peter Pan (meaning they haven’t repainted the buses). Now they have a monopoly on the major runs in and out of Boston, and it was not six months before they hiked the fairs, complicated the student discounts, degraded the service, and didn’t change the schedule, or at least didn’t change it enough to compensate for the fact that there is now one bus line running between points A and B and not two.
Sorry. I know this should be in the pit, but you brought it up.
nevermind that; my first Greyhound experience in college was meant to be my last. The bus was literally falling apart around us. Now, I’ve had bad experiences with some very good companies, but, well, this was a first impression and there was a very easy alternative. Many of the people I saw on that Greyhound bus for the first break were on my Shortline bus the next time
