Hello,
Does anyone here know how long it takes to hear a decision from the board of review? I appealed the referees first decision and was granted another hearing and now it’s up to the board of review to make a decision. It has been 8 weeks since the hearing and 6 months since I filed the original claim. Also during the first hearing my ex employer was on record telling the referee that he would have liked to take him out to lunch later but had to get back to work. Wtf
In my experience, they get to you when they get to you. They actually tell you that.
I appealed a decision last August and had my “hearing” in October. Because I had moved away from the county in which my job had been, my “hearing” was held by phone. This was supposed to be helpful for me, to keep me from having to drive 2.5 hours to their office. When the arbitrator called me, my phone didn’t ring - it went straight to voice mail. So they proceeded WITHOUT ME. Yes, my employer and the referee had a “hearing” in which I didn’t get to present any of my information.
A decision was eventually made but I had to spend quite a bit of time at the local CareerLink on the phone to UC. (They have a direct line. You don’t even have to dial the phone.)
Good luck!
