I bought Lee Kum Kee’s Chile Garlic Sauce and it seemed to be extremely salty. Is thier Sriracha extra salty?
Never heard of it before. I really like Tabasco green, does that mean I should *really *like El Yucoteco Habanero Green?
(BTW, I am not a fan of the regular Tobasco but will just pour on the green. I like the Huy Fong. )
If it’s the stuff I’m thinking of, El Yucoteco Habanero Green is very, very hot. Use caution.
I like it, BTW.
It’s got more kick (heat) that Tobasco green because it’s made from habanero but also more flavor (IMHO)
My newest sriracha love is Crying Tiger from the dollar store. It’s not exactly the same but it’s pretty good. Nice heat, a bit of garlic and just a bit of sweet.
Exactly - very hot, so use accordingly. Very tasty - had some on my eggs a few minutes ago
Sadly, my son still has a developing palate. He hates sriracha, but loves crystal on his potsickers. Vinegar, I guess.
Subway has a sriracha chicken sandwich now, can you imagine the “cock sauce” jokes?
nm
I don’t know if I’d say extra salty, but it’s definitely saltier than Huy Fong.
Attention Sriracha fans - the sauce that is poised to take over the world may be in short supply soon…
*Fans and business owners across the food-service industry, from quirky retailers like Glam Doll to specialty grocery stores and countless restaurants, are concerned they could face a serious shortage of the increasingly ubiquitous condiment brand, made by a family-owned company at two facilities in the Los Angeles area.
Recently, residents living near Huy Fong’s new 626,000-square-foot facility, which opened last year in Irwindale, Calif., have complained of noxious fumes. Late last month, the city sued in state court to close down the operation. A judge could decide as soon as Friday whether those claims merit a preliminary injunction, which would halt production at the facility as the case moves forward.*
Time to stock-up.
