Question re: small business insurances (in CA) - how much?

I can’t seem to get a straight answer on the Internet for this.

I’m in the early planning stages of opening a salon in southern CA, and trying to write a business plan. I can’t find out how much insurance costs (roughly), thus can’t do my financial projections.

So, small biz owners, how much do you pay for:

Workers comp?
Liablilty?
Fire?
Theft?
Business Interruption?
etc. etc.

I’m just trying to get a handle on the scope of the costs…

Based on my (not California) experience.

The nature and size of your business determine a lot of what you pay. Starting out, you’ll have to make estimates, and you will pay on that basis. Every year you will be audited for true performance and premiums will be adjusted up or (yes, it happens) down.

There’s no way you’ll get an accurate number on the 'net. Contact a commercial insurance broker. It costs nothing to ask.

Good luck!
