I recently bought a re-issue of two Marie Osmond CDs called “Who’s Sorry Now / This Is The Way That I Feel.” It was re-issued by Cherry Red’s 7T
The lable says the CD was remastered from the original but it clearly has distortion on the title track and others. If you listen to the song, someone put it up on YouTube, you can hear this on the “S” sounds Marie sings. Click here listen around 0:53.
You can see the “S” are distorted. After looking on the internet I’ve read that some people say this is a sign that it is just a CD recording of a vinyl LP. I’ve also read that others said the originial recording was just bad and the distortion in the “S” sounds was always there.
So my question is: Does anyone remember this song from 1977? And if so did the original have that distortion or is it just a poor attempt by someone to put out a CD off of a vinyl rip?
