Question regarding the meaning of A*AA score for Oxford University

Hi

I’ve been reading about entrance requirements for Computer Science at Oxford University.

I came across the following.

AAA with the A in Maths, Further Maths or Computing/Computer Science

Please explain the AAA to me. I could not find any explanation for the AA after the A.
I look forward to your feedback.

It looks like AAA with the A in Maths, Further Maths or Computing/Computer Science
means of three courses/A-level courses the applicant needs and A* in one subject and A’s in two other subjects with an A* in Math. Are the Computing and Computer Science different subjects?

You need to get one A* grade and two As grades (that is the meaning of the AA). Additionally the A* needs to be in Maths, Further Maths or Computing/Computer Science, the A grades can be in anything.

The A-Level course which used to be known as Computing has been retitled Computer Science (and, possibly, this retitling may have been effected on different dates by different Examination Boards. But, regardless of whether the certificate you have says you have an A* grade in Computing or an A* grade in Computer Science, that will meet the requirement.
