Questions About The "Three Stooges"

I saw the Mel Gibson movie last night-overall, well done. I have a few questions about the famous comedy group: were the boys well paid by Columbia>? I heard that the haed of Columbia was a notorious skinflint…and was that scene about the TV residuals accurate? Did Moe Howard have any kids? Did they get any of the TV residuals? And Larry Fine…did he have children?
It is amazing that comedy films like this (made in the 1930’s) are still being rebroacasted, 70 years later!
The part about Curley…was he always bothered by fans who thought it was “OK” to take a poke at him?
Great movie!

The movie was accurate in regards to the Stooges’ business deals: they weren’t paid all that well, they were worked too hard, their contract gave them no residuals or royalty payments once the shorts were sold to TV, and Moe was a somewhat timid businessman (though a shrewd investor of the money he did make) who probably could’ve done more to raise the group’s profile while they were working for Columbia.

Both Moe and Larry had children, and today their heirs manage the Stooges’ licensing and royalties through a company, C3 Entertainment, that was originally founded by the Stooges themselves in the 50s. C3 produced (with Mel Gibson) the Stooge biopic you watched and are co-producing the new Stooges feature that the Farrelly brothers are directing.
