Quibids, a ripoff?

I’ve seen this advertised on the TV and thought I’d go buy a new car for $99.95. Well, there’s a problem. They charge for bids. A buck per bid and each bid can be as low as one cent. In fact, it appears that each bid IS just one cent.

I watched the bidding for a while and it appeared that Quibids was bidding on the items just to keep the bids coming in and of course, they were going up by one cent. Once they make 200 bucks in bids, they can sell a 50 dollar item for 15 dollars and make a killing.

Is this a ripoff? Anyone ever score anything great on one of these sites?

IMO, it’s mostly a scam. It’s possible to get something on the site but it’s set up to get money from as many people as possible through their rigged bidding process.
