Quick Dementia Update

I respectfully suggest that, if there is a next time that your BP reads like that, you hi thee off to the ER.

I’m no doctor, and I’d like to hear their input on this, but with BP that low, I think you run the risk of not perfusing all the squishy stuff that needs to be perfused–to put it in technical medical jargon-speak terms.

My father was taking a drug to regulate his heart rate and blood pressure. Back about two months ago he suddenly felt very very not well and my mother drove him to the hospital. His bp was near where yours was and his pulse was 40. They took him off the meds for a little bit and then gave him something else.

Seems they did something similar to you, just swapping the meds. But seriously, if your blood pressure is a little high and the meds make them way too low, then some other kind of solution would seem to be in order.

I hear good things about leeches.

Well, here goes then. My dad had Alzheimer’s for over a decade, but also had cancer, which is what finally did him in. We all loved this joke:

Guy goes to his doctor to get the results of tests.
Doctor says “I’ve got some bad news and some more bad news for you.”

*“Okay, doc, give me the first bad news.”

*“I’m afraid you have cancer.”

*“Oh, that’s terrible. What’s the other bad news?”

*“You have Alzheimer’s.”

“Well, hey, at least I don’t have cancer!”
