Quick--How old are you?

Well, I’m 39 and I turn 40 (that’s 90 in gay years) on August 18th, so there’s no chance of my forgetting how old I am.

uhhhhhh… (counting fingers)… I’m just shy of 35. I’m another one of those types who has forgotten how old they are. I even forgot my own b-day once until a card arrived, then got pissed cuz my dad had me at the wrong age. My wife then informed me that he was right. (I was off by two years). What’s in a number anyways?

I’m 28. I have no problems remembering my age, but I don’t know the ages of anyone else in my family. I always have to do the math when trying to determine the age of my parents or sister. I feel especially dumb when I get my sister’s age wrong because I only have to add 2 to my age - we were born almost exactly two years apart (I was born June 1st, she was born on the 2nd). But every year on her birthday for the past few years, I’ve goten her age wrong. This year I bought her a birthday card that said Happy 32!

She didn’t think it was so funny.

23, never been smooched.

Wait, no, that’s not true.

23, occasionally smooched.

Yeah.

I always have to THINK when people ask me how old I am. I have to think of what year I was born, and do the math.

Yeesh.

Senior moments at my age… sad, no?

Im 19 right now, and won’t be 20 till next may. Which I don’t want to come really, then i’ll be a real live adult in my eyes. To myself I’m still a teenager even though the police see me as an adult cause im over 18. Does that mean I’ll have to start acting more responsible?

40

Gawd, that’s a scary number, but I guess I can’t do much about it.

I have 3 brothers a sis-in-law, plus my parents’ ages to remember, if I’m lucky. I don’t even try to get the ages of the 23 first cousins.

Younger brother: 20. This one I am absolutely positive about.

1st older brother is currently 30. I only know this because I talked to him tonight and he was talking about being 30.

My oldest brother: He was 30 when he got married. That was when I worked for the loan sharks, as an auditor. I started working for them in February 96. I moved to Nashville for them in May 1997, and to Mississippi in October 1998. He got married in August 1999, which means he’s been married almost 2 years. Therefore he is 32. That means his wife is 24, because she was 22 when they got married.

My father will be 60 this Sunday.

My mother was 35 when little brother was born. He is now 20, so she turned 55 this past spring.
My brain hurts. I never do this much thinking about people’s ages at one time.

[sup]drats!![/sup] :frowning:

16… the only reason I know that is because my birthday was last week, usually I have to pause and think for a sec.

Don’t even get me started on the ages of my friends or family. There’s a nice pattern of age differences with the siblings so that doesn’t take too long but I keep forgetting how old my parents are… and their birthdays. oops!

Kitty

How old I am is never something I’ve had much trouble with. Occasionally I’ve had to actually think about it, but that’s
usually within a month after my birthday, when I’m so used to saying “I’m x years old,” that I forget I’m x+1.

So, having been 20 for all of two weeks, I haven’t yet forgotten. I think I remember it just to have the peace of
mind that I’m not a teenager anymore.

And, I’m really looking forward to being 21. And I’m not really sure why. I don’t have any desire to go get trashed
on my birthday. I’m sure alcohol consumption will occur after I turn 21, but I’m not like anxiously awaiting it for
that. I’m not really sure why I’m so hyped. Maybe it’s 'cause I get a new driver’s license, one that doesn’t
identify me as underaged? One where my picture is against a pretty blue background, instead of a red one? <shrug>

After I turn 21 I’ll probably not pay any attention to how old I am - I barely do now, but once I have full legal
priveledges, does it really matter how long I’ve had those priveledges?

I am waiting to turn 35, though. I’ll finally be able to be president!

20 at the moment; but I’ll be 21 on the 21st of October.

But wait, there’s more.

I’ll be 21 on the 21st of October, which happens to be the last day of the 21st fortnight of the year, which is the first year of the 21st century.

It’s a bit spooky, huh?
I’m more loking forward to this weird day than the idea of being able to purchase alcoholic beverages [I’m not much of a drinker].

I am 29.

But, I do not feel 29.

I still view myself as a kid.

But then I stop to think:
There’s no denying it. 30 is adulthood!

It bothered me last year, but now I am cool with it. its just a number after all!

  1. 21 in 2.5 months. which is longer than it should be.

16 as of the 12th

I haven’t had the lost year experience, but I did find myself, post last 47-48 yr. old birthday, forgetting that we’d already done that and thinking, “Well, I had another birthday, so I guess I’m 49 now.” Reversing the trend? I don’t know.

Good luck to you all; I’m 48.

This year.

As of Shogun Haircut,

the average age of all the people who posted was 28.673

There were some celestial oddities I encountered while aquiring the data:

The fortieth person who posted their age, Muffin, is forty years old.

I am still scanning the data for more oddities, I will instantly report upon other such findings. I know this was a bit of a manic thing to do(calculate the data), but I know I wouldn’t have been able to sleep otherwise.

Or as my mom likes to put it, your “golden birthday”. I had mine when I was 14. It seems so long ago…

Oh, and I will be exactly one week older than you.:stuck_out_tongue: (Like that is good.)

[Quick hijack]

Wow, that means that this will be your golden birthday! (More info, refer to this thread: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=71691 )

[/Quick hijack]

And I’m 21, unless I forgot a birthday.

With all those 21s, it’s more of a Super Platinum Birthday.

All you younguns…

Let’s break up the 21 crowd here. I’m 25, and I’m older than you are, so neener neener neener… :stuck_out_tongue:
