I worked in Texas (no state income tax), and I’ve since moved to Indiana (state income tax here). Now do I owe Indiana any income tax now even though I’ve done no work here (it was all done in TX)? I don’t see why I would but this tax software is saying I do… Thanks!
The indiana state tax form says,
If you were a part-year resident and received income while you lived
in Indiana, you must file Indiana Form IT-40PNR, Part-Year Resident
or Nonresident Individual Income Tax Return.
It seems it would depend on if you had any income while living in Indiana in 2006. IANA tax professional. This is my laymans interpretation of what it says.
