My fiancee has been working on a needlepoint project for six months. She took it off the frame tonight to find that a few rows of stitches had been flattened by being pressed against the frame bar. Is there any technique for “waking up” these stitches, fluffing them out so they’re as full as the rest? We need to give this away tomorrow night, so prompt help is appreciated! Thanks!
It’s always a good idea to wash a piece when you finish, to clean off lint, skin oils that can cause discoloration, etc before framing (or whatever). Wash it with Woolite or similar by hand in the sink (don’t wring it!!!). Lay it out on a towel and re-shape it correctly, then let it air-dry. That should also have the desired effect of “re-fluffing” the flattened parts.
