Quick question...cotg - cotangent?

Just a quick one, I’m writing a literature review for very boring flow physics and one of the texts I’m using derives some useful equations.

One of the ones I want to quote uses cotg(alpha), and my higher trigonometric functions are a little rusty.

There’s nothing that g should be in this equation, is cotg just another way to write cotagent? I’m used to simply cot for this.

Thank you in advance, maths dopers…

Searching with Google gives several pages where cotg is used to mean cotangent. Here, for example.
