Mostly because I am lazy… but I often like to go home to eat lunch and I only get 30mins to do so. If I walked there (10 mins) and then walked back (10 mins) I would only have time for a cracker once I got there…
Thats my justification and I am sticking to it!!

Jeez, with my luck with my car lately I’d better be belted in.
Thanks for the answers.
Well, the reason I asked is that my husband and I were out doing errands (in the Toyota truck, all belted in), when he said the following:
“Most of the people not wearing seatbelts drive American cars.”
And you know what, he was right! Out of all the cars we passed, almost all non-seatbelt wearers that we could see were in American makes of cars.
Note that the converse didn’t seem to be necessarily true. In other words, there were plenty of belted people driving American cars. But of the ones observed un-belted, most were in American cars.
I suggested that I survey the dopers, and he said that it was unlikely that anyone would admit to not wearing a seat belt. I assured him that people admit to all sorts of things on this board, but it doesn’t seem that there are too many non seat belt users in this thread.
So, what do you all think? Why this correlation? Do you observe the same thing?
