OESGal, I have had the opportunity to drive in Washington, and I can say with no doubt whatsoever that DC-area drivers have nothing on Quebecers. DC drivers are aggressive, but they follow a certain logic in terms of negotiating roads and obstacles, even if they do it too fast and risky. Quebecois drivers follow no logical system whatsoever. The few times I’ve actually been in a car with one, my impression was that they’re only peripherally concerned with what they’re doing, and are basically unconscious of anything outside the car.
Just be thankful you do not live in the Seattle area, where not only is there shitty traffic but also lots of rain to slow it down. Do you guys have ** Morons ** who like to literalty stop to gawk at a cop giving some speeding dude a ticket? Ugh! I hate those people- get a life!
OESgal,
In the true spirit of the pit,
Quit yer fuckin bitchin! A 10 mile commute that you do evey day for 45 minutes? What’s the point of that? Ride your bicycle there, instead, goddamnit! 10 measly miles. And you people say you drive cars because it’s faster. You also all bitch about the parking. I hate you all.
(sorry, I realize you probably work along the overdeveloped strips next to the freeway and that what you call “back roads” are scary busy mini-highways that I wouldn’t dare ride a bike on. Couldn’t help it, though).
(oh my god, I’m gonna get flamed. . .)
Well, if I wanted to arrive at my office all sweaty and yucky I would ride my bike! Oh, and btw, 10 miles is not measly for me to bike, maybe you’re a buff jock or something, M.K., but for me 10 miles would kill me for the day and I’d never get any work done! Yeah, and also, I doubt I could get to where I work on a bike w/o getting killed by the IDIOTS on our roads who are so aggressive they’d hit me just cause I was moving faster then they were.
